DO YOU SEE is a self-reflexive 360° documentary that questions the growing normalization of surveillance in contemporary life. Shot and directed by Amal Zen, the film invites viewers into an immersive exploration of being constantly watched by CCTV cameras, digital systems, and the invisible infrastructures of control that govern public and private spaces.Using the unique potential of the 360° format, the film creates a spatial tension between seeing and being seen, mirroring the unsettling presence of surveillance technologies. Interwoven with AI-generated imagery and personal reflections, it speculates on the future of surveillance while grounding itself in the present realities of institutional observation. This project began as a personal confrontation with discomfort, one shaped by the director’s experience growing up in Qatar and later witnessing the increasing presence of cameras in what was once a free creative environment. DO YOU SEE becomes a meditation on visibility, control, and digital memory, prompting audiences to examine their own position within the systems that watch them.
